If you ski once a year, buying outerwear makes little sense: a decent jacket-and-pants combination costs about what several seasons of rental would, then sits in a wardrobe for 360 days a year.
The sets we rent are made from fabric rated to at least 10,000 mm waterproofing and 10,000 g/m² breathability — meaning you stay dry sitting in wet snow, without trapping sweat.
Every garment is professionally laundered after each rental and its DWR water-repellent finish is renewed.
The three-layer rule
Staying warm on the mountain is about layering, not bulk. A base layer that moves sweat away from the skin, a mid layer of fleece or insulation that holds heat, and a shell that blocks wind and water.
The most common mistake is a cotton T-shirt. Cotton soaks up sweat and does not dry, and once wet it pulls heat out of you fast. We do not include base layers in the rental set — that is the one piece we suggest you bring yourself.
