Goggles are safety equipment, not a comfort item. Snow reflects about 80% of sunlight, and UV intensity rises sharply with altitude. A day on the mountain without eye protection can cause the painful corneal burn known as snow blindness.
Our rental goggles are UV400 rated and double-lensed — the air gap between the lenses is what stops them fogging. We offer different tints for different conditions: orange or yellow for overcast and foggy days, dark mirrored lenses for bright sun.
Which lens tint for which weather
Lens colour is not decoration — it changes contrast and what you can actually see. With the wrong tint on a foggy day you will not pick out the bumps in the piste, and snow and sky blur into one.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use sunglasses instead of goggles?
They can just about do on a short, windless day, but they do not block side light or wind and can shatter in a fall. Goggles are clearly safer.
Do the goggles fit over prescription glasses?
Yes, we stock OTG (over-the-glasses) models — just note it on the request form.
